Cooking with a Brick on the Barbecue

How to Cook with a Brick on the Barbecue

Did you know that you can bake on your barbecue? Keep your house cool on hot days or make your outdoor get-together more fun by using your barbecue as an oven. Appetizers, mains or desserts can all be baked this way, using cast iron or other metal baking pans.

You can make your barbecue into an oven by baking on your warming rack or using a patio brick .

An inexpensive patio brick or two is used to lift your food away from the direct heat of the barbecue and, at the right temperature, cook your food evenly. When done, allow the brick to cool completely before handling.
