BRAISED RED CABBAGE WITH APPLES
Ingredients
2 tbsp salted butter
10 cups thinly sliced red cabbage
3 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples
1/4 cup packed golden brown sugar
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp water
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Directions
Melt butter in a large frypan over medium heat. Add remaining ingredients and sauté for 5 minutes or until cabbage starts to soften. Reduce heat and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until cabbage and apples are tender and liquid is evaporated, about 45 minutes.
