BRAISED RED CABBAGE WITH APPLES
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 10 cups thinly sliced red cabbage
- 3 cups thinly sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples
- 1/4 cup packed golden brown sugar
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Directions
- Melt butter in a large frypan over medium heat. Add remaining ingredients and sauté for 5 minutes or until cabbage starts to soften. Reduce heat and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until cabbage and apples are tender and liquid is evaporated, about 45 minutes.
