BROWN RICE WITH HAZELNUTS AND SAGE
Ingredients
- 2 cups long grain brown rice
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 3/4 cup sliced hazelnuts
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh sage
Directions
- Combine rice, water and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, about 40 - 45 minutes. Remove from heat and fluff rice with a fork; set aside.
- Melt butter in a medium frypan over medium heat. Add hazelnuts and sage. Cook, stirring, until hazelnuts are lightly browned, about 3 – 4 minutes. Stir hazelnut mixture into rice. Transfer to a serving dish.
