BUTTERSCOTCH HOT CHOCOLATE

This decadent hot chocolate is a great drink to serve to company or to enjoy on a cold night when you need a warm treat.

Yield: Serves 4 - 6.

BUTTERSCOTCH HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (224 g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup butterscotch liqueur
  • Sweetened whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings

Directions

  1. Combine chocolate and milk in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, whisking constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth and steaming. Do not boil.
  3. Remove from heat; stir in liqueur.
  4. Pour into mugs. Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
