CHEDDAR DILL BISCUITS
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp dill weed
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup salted butter, chilled and cubed
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp finely chopped green onion
- 3/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/3 cup milk (2%)
Directions
- Combine first 6 ingredients (flour through salt) in a bowl.
- Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
- Stir in cheese and green onion.
- Whisk together yogurt and milk until blended.
- Add yogurt mixture to flour mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead dough gently 5 times. Roll out dough 1/2 inch thick.
- Using a floured 2 inch cookie cutter, cut dough into rounds.
- Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 400ºF for 15 - 17 minutes or until lightly browned.
