Cherry Bourbon Manhattan
Tart cherries and aromatic bitters pair perfectly with the oaky flavour of bourbon whiskey. As an alternative to garnishing with grilled cherries, try serving this smooth cocktail with brandied cherries.

Cherry Bourbon Manhattan
Ingredients
- 1 bamboo skewer
- 6 cherries, pitted
- 2 - 3 ice cubes
- 1/4 cup cherry juice
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tbsp bourbon whiskey
- 1 - 2 dashes angostura bitters
Directions
- Soak skewer in hot water for 30 minutes.
- Preheat natural gas barbecue on high heat for 10 – 15 minutes.
- Thread cherries onto skewer. Grill over high heat, turning occasionally, until grill-marked, about 5 minutes.
- To prepare Manhattan, add ice cubes to a tumbler glass. Pour in cherry juice, orange juice, bourbon and bitters. Stir to combine. Garnish with grilled cherries.
