CITRUS SALSA

What’s the difference between a fruit salad and a fruit salsa? In this case, the addition of red onion, cilantro and jalapeno pepper. The spice and savoury elements make this orange, grapefruit and lime mix a great accompaniment to grilled fish.

Yield: Makes 1 1/3 cups.

CITRUS SALSA

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped orange segments
  • 1/2 cup chopped grapefruit segments
  • 1/4 cup chopped lime segments
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped seeded jalapeno pepper
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp grated orange peel, grapefruit peel and lime peel
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients. Serve immediately.
