Cream Cheese Spritz Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup salted butter
- 4 oz (125 g) cream cheese
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp grated lemon peel, optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375ᵒF.
- Combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
- Using medium speed of an electric mixer, beat together butter and cream cheese. Beat in sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, lemon juice, vanilla and lemon peel; mix well.
- Add dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Fill a cookie press or a piping bag fitted with a large open star tip. Press into desired shapes onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
- Bake until edges are browned, about 10 – 12 minutes.
- Let cookies stand for 5 minutes on cookie sheets.
- Remove from cookie sheets and cool completely on racks.
