GREEK CHEESE BALL

Give your party cheese ball a bit of Mediterranean flair! This cheesy spread is full of feta, basil and olives. Serve it with crackers or pita chips.

Yield: Makes 2 balls.

GREEK CHEESE BALL

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (250 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz (125 g) feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp basil, crumbled
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1/3 cup chopped ripe olives
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • Sliced olives*
  • Sliced green onion*

Directions

  1. Beat together cream cheese, feta, butter, basil and pepper. Stir in chopped olives and onion. Chill mixture until slightly firm.
  2. Shape into 2 balls. Wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Garnish with sliced olives and onion. Do not freeze.
