GREEN TEA AND BERRY SMOOTHIE

We designed this unique breakfast smoothie to give you an energy boost first thing in the morning. Green tea adds flavour and just a little bit of buzz to a mix of yogurt, berries and honey.

Yield: Serves 4.

GREEN TEA AND BERRY SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • 2 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 1 medium banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a non-reactive saucepan. Remove from heat. Add tea bags. Cover and steep for 10 minutes. Strain tea through a sieve into a bowl, pressing on tea bags to extract as much tea as possible; discard tea bags. Cool tea completely.
  2. Place tea and remaining ingredients in a blender; purée until smooth. Pour into glasses. Serve immediately.
