HOT MUSHROOM DIP
This creamy hot dip is packed with cooked bacon, sautéed mushrooms and loads of flavour. Serve it as a party appetizer with crackers and bread sticks.
Yield: Makes 2 1/2 cups.

HOT MUSHROOM DIP
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 2 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 8 oz (250 g) cream cheese, cubed
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Directions
- Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tbsp of reserved drippings. Crumble bacon; set aside.
- Cook mushrooms, onion and garlic in reserved drippings until tender and most of liquid has evaporated, about 6 – 8 minutes.
- Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
- Heat and stir until cheese is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream and bacon.
- Serve warm with assorted crackers or bread sticks. Do not freeze.
