LUAU RIBS
Ingredients
- 5 lb (2.5 kg) pork back ribs
- 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
- 1/4 cup packed golden brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 can (8 oz/227 mL) crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/8 tsp hot pepper sauce
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with non-stick foil.
- Place ribs in a single layer in prepared pan. Sprinkle both sides of ribs with seasoned salt.
- Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, to prepare sauce, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, salt and garlic powder in a medium saucepan. Stir in pineapple, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce and hot pepper sauce. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 1 - 2 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven. Baste ribs with half of sauce. Continue baking, basting occasionally with remaining sauce, for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours or until ribs are tender and glazed. Cut into serving pieces.
