MAPLE GLAZED BACON

Bacon is always a treat, but for something extra special bake it in the oven with maple syrup. You’ll end up with a salty candied breakfast delicacy.

Yield: Serves 6.

MAPLE GLAZED BACON

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) sliced bacon
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Separate bacon slices and place in a heavy plastic bag.
  3. Combine syrup and pepper. Pour over bacon. Gently squeeze and turn bag to coat bacon with mixture.
  4. Line a large jelly-roll pan with foil. Place a rack in pan. Arrange bacon on rack, overlapping if necessary.
  5. Bake for 45 - 50 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Do not overbake.
