SMOKY ROASTED PEPPER BREAD

This cheesy grilled bread is covered in mayonnaise, cheddar, jarred roasted red peppers and hot pepper sauce. Serve it with steak or other barbecued entrées.

SMOKY ROASTED PEPPER BREAD

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup chopped canned roasted red peppers
  • 1/8 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

Directions

  1. Preheat natural gas barbecue on low heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
  2. Combine all ingredients except bread until blended. Wrap bread halves individually in heavy duty foil, leaving cut side open. Spread cheese mixture over cut side of bread halves.
  3. Place bread directly on grid or on warming rack. With lid down, cook until cheese is melted and bread is golden around edges, about 15 - 20 minutes. Slice bread and serve.
