SOUR CHERRY PEACH CRISP

Peaches and sour cherries complement each other beautifully in this easy summer dessert.

SOUR CHERRY PEACH CRISP

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed golden brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 4 cups pitted sour cherries, halved
  • 2 cups cubed unpeeled peaches
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp quick-cooking tapioca

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. To prepare topping, combine flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly; set aside.
  3. Combine cherries, peaches, sugar and tapioca in a separate bowl. Spoon cherry mixture into a greased 7 x 11 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with topping.
  4. Bake until cherry mixture is bubbly and topping is golden, about 40 minutes. Serve warm.
