SPICY TEXAS STEAK
Give your barbecued steak the Texas treatment with a rub made of dry mustard, chili pepper, thyme and other spices.

SPICY TEXAS STEAK
Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp thyme, crumbled
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 1/4 lb (.625 kg) sirloin or round steak, 1 inch thick
- 1 tbsp canola oil
Directions
- To prepare rub, combine garlic, pepper, chili powder, mustard, paprika, thyme, salt and cayenne pepper; set aside.
- Preheat natural gas barbecue on medium heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, brush steak with oil. Spread rub over both sides of steak. Let stand 10 - 15 minutes.
- Grill steak to desired doneness.
