TANGY GRILLED ASPARAGUS
This barbecued side dish gets its tang from a garlic and balsamic marinade. Serve it with grilled meat or fish.

TANGY GRILLED ASPARAGUS
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 24 asparagus spears, trimmed
Directions
- To prepare marinade, combine all ingredients except asparagus in a heavy zip-lock plastic bag. Add asparagus and squeeze bag to coat asparagus with marinade; seal bag. Let stand for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat natural gas barbecue on medium heat for 10 - 15 minutes.
- Remove asparagus from marinade; discard marinade. Grill asparagus, turning occasionally, until tender, about 5 - 7 minutes.
